I am working with a second grade social studies class and collaborating w/their teacher for a mixed media portrait of a selected hero or leader. I have been working with them over four days and tomorrow is the last day. This has involved photocopying and we started painting yesterday. The kids are adorable! They have been very engaged and it is great to see how they are also helping each other out at times- helping w/coloring w/the oil pastels, offering opinions, helping w/spelling..etc. I feel fortunate that I have been welcomed into the classroom by the teacher. 



Tomorrow I will begin the framing of my art for Artomatic 08. It should not be too difficult, except my studio is so crowded, i really don't have space to do this! I type this as I am now wearing my Artomatic t-shirt. I have started to spread the word about Artomatic- giving out the flyers, etc.  More to come!
