DAY TWO of Summer Art for Elem Kids
Wow, I didn't know the kids were going to be this young! Pre-K.
I had worked at the same elem. school with 4th and 5th graders for the past two summers. This is a HUGE difference! It doesn't matter that there are only 7 in the class- they go in different directions, or just GO. (that is the first group.) Actually, it gets easier after the first group- the youngest set. The other classes have between 12-18 students.
Anyway, tomorrow is a new day, and I think I'm just going to plunge into the marble maze project- working on one project together... I did get some great suggestions from my friend tonight (experienced with preschoolers).
At least clean up- so far- is going well.
Here's some good news----
Dave has just installed his sculpture Progress at the Kreeger Museum. It is on loan for six months, which may get extended to a year.

And I got some good news-
Two grants came through for two artist residencies in Virginia for school year 2008/9. Most likely both in April or May 09. I will be in Annandale, VA for a week (elem. school) and Alleghany County for two weeks (high school), both are mixed media artists residencies.
