Back to School
Just got back from my last back to school night...(Rigel's a senior). Interesting classes this year- justice, psychology, sociology, environ. science...and hope for a great year.
Long day today. Went to VA to help register voters- and it was great. Maybe it was the discussion on MCneeds (about special needs and the election...) that drove me to do something about the election. Will return soon. Fun to be on a college campus (GMU) w/lots of energy. May go back and/or hit the metro rush hour. DAve will be playing music at Songs for Obama in Silver Spring 9/21.
Will begin art classes with grades 1-4 tomorrow. We will be recycling old computer floppy disks and using fabric paint and glitter glue. I'm sure these kids have never seen the 5" computer disks. Kids at HSC Pediatrics enjoyed painting on the disks. I may group all the disks together and have them sandwiched between acetate.
On the art front....my paintings from NIH Clinical Research Center are traveling to the Washington Cancer Institute and also to Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville, VA. Have started a painting of one of Dave's sculptures- One of his models for Night Boat. Sort of a boat with life too it. I'm working on the tar paper.
