Entry for June 1, 2009
Spent Friday night at Artomatic until the wee hours. Was able to visit floors 7 and parts of 8 and 9. Did check out my friend Patrick Finley's work on 4th FL. Glad to see he's at Artomatic. Anyway, our site is directly across from the 7th FLR bar and Hard Times Cafe- Chili, Meat and Vegetarian. I explained the mousetrapped series to passersby; anyone interested, and was happy to see several mouse stories posted by others- in the extra cabinet where i'm asking for people to post their mouse &/or rat tales. well, what can i say- relating to rodent problems. kinda creepy, but real.
have heard some good solutions from others; and some people who have written in have learned to live w/mice. think of them as pets. well, that may be one or two people.
Pretty vibrant area now, in and out of Artomatic- street life in front of Artomatic, so walking around the corner to metro was no problem. i have today to re-organize my supplies, etc for next weeks artist residency in Northern VA w/6th graders- Personal/Persona Container project. (and may be worth my while to go w/rigel to help him find a job- the sooner the better...) any job leads for a new high school graduate? He's a people person, friendly, pleasant w/all ages. Knows sign language, drives manual transmission, has worked before in food service, volunteered at suburban hospital in clinical transport- assisting people discharged from hospital...volunteered at animal shelter, student conservation association- maintaining trails, etc. very considerate, and aims to please.
let me know!
