| Geometry in Mixed Media Students will collaborate in the design, construction and painting of large geometric shapes using paper mache, cardboard tubes and acrylic paint. Artist will present students wilth their challenge and will lead students in the construction of the oversized shapes. Students will begin with WHAT they know and together arrive at the HOW. |

| Artist will expose students to artists and sculptors; demonstrate painting techniques and guide students in painting their constructions. Skill objective(s): Solving problems and building self-esteem. Gain confidence in participating in the art process (sharing their ideas and skills.) Carrying out their design to reach a cool outcome. Experiment with media, processes, and techniques to convey specific thoughts and feelings b. Manipulate art media, materials, and tools safely c. Create artworks that explore the uses of the elements of art and selected principles of design, such as pattern, repetition, contrast, balance, variety and unity/harmony to express personal meaning. Mathematics 2.0 Knowledge of Geometry Students will apply the properties of one-, two-, or three-dimensional geometric figures to describe, reason or solve problems about shape, size, position, or motion of objects. A. Plane Geometric Figures 1. Analyze the properties of plane geometric figures a) Identify and describe relationships line and line segments in geometric figures or pictures c) Idenfify and describe the radius and diameter of a cirlce 2.
